Smokestar
48 Male Leader Stormclan Hetero |
Devoted | Logical | Manipulative | Reticent |
Appearance
Smokestar has a long, black canvas that hangs loosely from his muscular frame. His body is one of great power through his thick structure and well muscled legs. His shaggy fur often gets in his way when fighting and can prove to be a great disadvantage in warm weather. Smokestar's optics are a pale, unusual green that contrasts his dark canvas nicely. Several scars are scattered across his body but most remain hidden within his pelt.
Personality
Smokestar has an interesting mix of traits that make him a rather unique feline. He is devoted to his clan and always puts their needs above his own. His logically way of thinking is often to his advantage. He never jumps into a mindless fight without first considering the repercussions of such an action.
His flaws, however, often times outweigh his attributes. He is introverted by nature and often finds it hard to connect with his clan mates. He is awkward in conversations and finds it hard to approach someone merely to share tongues with them or just talk. Another negative trait of the tom's is his manipulative tendencies. He views the world in a very black and white sort of way. You're either useful or you're not in his eyes. He tries to avoid looking at anyone in this way or using them for his own benefit. But, no mater how hard he tries, he will always view an relationship as an opportunity to get something he wants.

Smokestar was born to as the mistake of a young warrior along with his brother. His no-one ever found out who their father was and his mother was firm about telling no one. Thus it was assumed she found a rogue or met with a tom from another clan.
The clan tried to treat the brothers no different than the other kits but Smokestar always knew he was different. And he hated it. Why should they be looked at different just because no one knew who their father was? It wasn't their fault!
His brother, Brakenwind, was a timid feline. He did his best to stay out of trouble and talk his brother out of doing something he would regret. But, despite their differences, the brothers were inseparable. You hardly ever saw one without the other.
Once they were made apprentices, the brothers trained together in their free time and hunted together when they could. Their mentors, however, despised one another and did everything they could to avoid the other. Thus, the brothers were slowly pulled apart by a feud that had nothing to do with them.
Each defended their mentor whenever confronted by the other. This resulted in increasingly frequent fights. They grew apart and by the time they were made warriors, they no longer had a strong bond.
Smokestar spent his warrior days patrolling and hunting like any other warrior. No one would have thought that in just a few moons he would be named deputy.
Ten moons after he was named a warrior, Smokestar was on a patrol with his brother and the current deputy. Brakenwind and Smokestar hardly spoke during the journey and this awkward tension in the air was what would ultimately give the rogue group the advantage of surprise.
The attack was swift and fierce. During the battle, Brakenwind and the deputy were both pinned by rogues. Smokestar had a decision to make. He left the deputy to die at the claws of the enemy while he saved his brother, murdering the rogue that was trying to kill his best friend.
After the battle, Smokestar was named deputy, much to his despair. He didn't think he earned it and would forever carry the guilt that came with choosing one life over another.
After the battle, the brothers slowly grew closer again, starting with Smokestar's hesitant approach to make sure Brakenwind was okay. Their relationship would never be the same as it had been but it was a start.
Just a few short moons after being named deputy, the current leader was killed. His death is still shrouded in mystery and no one knows quite what happened. Since his ceremony Smokestar has tried his best to be the leader his clan deserves, despite the guilt he feels about gaining the position in the first place.
